Job brief
We are looking for a committed part time Art and Textiles Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.
The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning as easy and meaningful process.
The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Art and Textiles at both GCSE and A-Level.
Develop schemes of work that meet curriculum and exam specification requirements.
Prepare students for both coursework and final assessments, ensuring they are supported in portfolio development and exam technique.
Provide constructive feedback and assessment in line with college policies.
Organise and supervise practical work, ensuring appropriate materials and resources are available.
Encourage individual artistic development while maintaining academic standards.
Support students in preparing work for exhibitions, interviews, and university applications (e.g., art foundation or degree-level courses).
Maintain accurate student records including attendance, progress, and assessments.
Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and college events.
Requirements
Proven experience as a teacher (Essential)
Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures (Essential)
