We are seeking a passionate and experienced AS & A Level Teacher (Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry) to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in AS & A Level Mathematics, fostering an engaging and stimulating learning environment, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
Job Description:
• Teach AS & A Level (Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry) curriculum to students, ensuring full syllabus coverage.
• Develop instructional materials that facilitate active learning and help students grasp complex mathematical concepts.
• Accountable for students' progress by being aware of their capabilities and planning the teaching to build on these.
• Foster and maintain students' interest in the subject, and address doubts.
• Encourage students to take a responsible attitude to their own work and study.
• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy, and the correct use of standard English.
• Promote a love of learning and encourage children's intellectual curiosity.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired.
• Make use of formative and summative assessments to secure students' progress.
• Give students regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage students to respond to the feedback.
• Work with parents in the best interests of enabling students to fulfil their potential.
• Promote good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the School in accordance with the School's Code of Conduct.
• Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside School.
• Carry out professional duties as may be required by the Director, Head Teacher or the Wing Head.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and stay updated on curriculum changes and best teaching practices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the AS & A Level (Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry) syllabus (Cambridge preferred).
Professional Experience:
• Professional teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ of experience teaching AS & A Level (Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry).
• Knows how to use ICT to support their teaching and wider professional activities.
Preferred Skills:
• Treats students with dignity, builds relationships rooted in mutual respect, and always observes proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher's professional position.
• Able to form positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
• An excellent record of punctuality and attendance.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to empathise.
• Motivate self and others and effectively collaborate with team members.
• Has emotional resilience and the ability to work under pressure.
