Global Environmental are partnering with Kier Facilities to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team as an Apprentice Asbestos Surveyor. You’ll gain hands-on experience, industry-recognised qualifications, and a clear progression route into a full-time surveying role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be working as part of a supportive team, gaining practical experience on live projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting qualified surveyors on-site during inspections
Helping to identify suspected asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings
Recording photographic evidence and writing observations using a tablet
Learning how to take and prepare material samples for laboratory analysis
Developing your understanding of safety regulations and industry best practice
Communicating professionally with team members and clients
Preparing for and completing your BOHS P402 qualification
The training you will be getting
On-the-job training with experienced asbestos surveyors over a 6-month period
A 2-day intensive classroom course followed by the BOHS P402 examination
Training includes both academic and practical elements
After qualifying, you'll be audited by our internal Quality Manager before progressing into a full-time role
Support with key professional skills including communication, digital skills, health & safety, and problem solving
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
A permanent, full-time role as a Lead Asbestos Surveyor
Salary increases to £23,000 post-qualification, and to £25,000 after your probation period
A company vehicle and credit card for work-related travel and expenses
Ongoing development and progression opportunities within the business
