Duties

Our client is an innovative, £20m turnover business, which serve reputable companies across diverse industries. This is an excellent chance to work in a role with clear routes to progress to management and perform leadership duties. This role would suit a driven individual, who can meet deadlines and manage various tasks from basic financial duties, through to those more senior in responsibility. Duties as an Assistant Accountant:
• Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Dealing with VAT returns and payroll
• Overseeing statutory documentation
• Handling queries and updating systems
• Updating systems and spreadsheets
• Assist in preparing budgets
• Monitoring financial performance
• Resolving issues and process improvement
• Managing and motivating a team
• Financial forecasting
• Developing internal processes
• Implementing and controlling changes
• Ensuring accounts are produced promptly
• Developing into covering more analytical duties
Skills:
• Qualified AAT Level 4 upwards or qualified by experience
• Personable in approach with excellent communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills and a desire to learn
• Can progress into overseeing and managing a team
• The ability to multitask and organise tasks
• Excellent IT skills including using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
To be successful as an Assistant Accountant and join our client in this exciting prospect, you will have come from a similar position or have covered similar duties. You will need to be an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisation skills. In return you will receive a salary between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, working Monday-Friday, with an early finish on a Friday and study support!
