About the Role:
This position reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for performing the financial accounting function for multiple businesses. Hands-on responsibility for month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, client billing, sub-ledger reconciliations (e.g. prosthesis reconciliations) and assisting with management reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in closing accounts receivable (AR) at month-end and prepare revenue journals.
Manage billing for hospitals, clinics and other business units, including generating rental invoices and other ad-hoc invoices as requested, ensuring accurate coding.
Reconcile trade debtors’ accounts and prepare aged debtors reports.
Collaborate with business units to streamline revenue recording and collection processes.
Assisting with accounts payable batch checking
Maintain the fixed asset register and process end-of-month depreciation entries.
Manage the prepayment schedule and process end-of-month releasing journals.
Update daily management data and prepare daily management reports as required.
Reconcile subledger accounts (e.g., prosthesis).
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
Assist with year-end audits and statutory reporting.
Support the transition to new accounting systems when needed.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
About you:
3+ years’ relevant experience (preferably in the Health Care or NFP industry)
Minimum tertiary level education in accounting and (preferably CA/CPA or working towards CA or CPA)
Intermediate to advanced skills for Microsoft Excel
Strong technical accounting skills and high level of attention to detail
A commitment to excellence in service/care delivery
Demonstrated professional/positive behaviour, including cultural sensitivity and respect
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
