Job Description
Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in planning and organizing daily kitchen operations.
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in various food preparation techniques and procedures.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products to maintain freshness and quality.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items, taking into consideration seasonality, guest preferences, and dietary restrictions.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist in implementing cost control measures to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
Assist in creating and adjusting recipes, portion sizes, and presentation techniques to meet customer expectations and operational goals.
Contribute to the training and development of kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to culinary standards and guidelines.
Requirements:
Culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized institution.
Previous experience working as a Sous Chef, Assistant Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and food presentation.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, and the ability to operate them safely.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide leadership to kitchen staff.
Creativity and a passion for culinary arts, with the ability to contribute to menu development.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes consistently.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
