Assistant Director of Finance

Role

We are currently looking for an Assistant Director of Finance to join our team of Department Heads. The Assistant Director of Finance reports directly to the Area Director of Finance Business Partner and is entrusted with overseeing the finance team and supports the Area Director of Finance Business Partner in maintaining and increasing the hotel’s overall profitability without compromising on quality.

Key expectations of this role
• Overseeing all accounting and finance aspects of the hotel including month-end procedures, accounts receivable, cost control, income audit, cashiering as well as accounts payable.
• Continuously identifying and developing areas for business improvement and motivating key stakeholders to actively engage in the process through P&L analysis.
• Showing a sound understanding of the hotel operation paired with expert finance knowledge to provide valuable insights to support the leadership team in achieving maximum profitability in their areas of responsibility.
• Acting as a coach and mentor to the Finance team by providing guidance and support in maintaining high performance and engagement.

Profile
• Experience at managerial level within Finance of an upscale hotel with knowledge of all key areas of Finance
• A good understanding of leading and developing people effectively.
• A thorough understanding of the hotel operation
• The ability to manage conflicting stakeholder views at all levels of the organisation
