We are expanding our team and are looking for an Assistant Fashion Designer to
assist our design team in the day-to-day activities that go into developing a
collection. Here are some key responsibility areas:
1. Design Support: Assist in creating sketches, illustrations, and design
concepts. This includes working with design software like Adobe Illustrator or
Photoshop.
2. Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct research on current fashion trends,
fabrics, colors, and market demands. Provide insights and suggest new ideas
or improvements.
3. Fabric and Material Selection: Help source and select fabrics, trims, and
other materials. Maintain relationships with fabric suppliers and keep up-to-
date with new materials.
4. Sample Development: Collaborate with pattern makers and sample makers
to create prototypes. Assist in fitting sessions and make necessary
adjustments to designs.
5. Technical Specifications: Prepare technical flats, detailed design specs, and
tech packs for production. Ensure all specifications are clear and accurate.
6. Pattern Making and Draping: Assist in creating or modifying patterns and
help with draping fabric on dress forms to visualize the design.
7. Production Coordination: Help coordinate and oversee the production
process to ensure that designs are executed according to specifications and
timelines.
8. Administrative Tasks: Manage design documents, keep track of design
samples, and assist with organizing meetings and presentations.
+. Client and Team Interaction: Communicate with clients, buyers, and other
team members to ensure alignment and gather feedback.
10. Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the design and
production process, from fabric sourcing problems to fitting concerns.
Minimum experience: 2+ years
