Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant based in the Head Office in Sydney (Mascot), NSW.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Assistant Financial Accountant will play a significant role as part of the Financial Accounting team at Head Office. The role consists of a wide range of accounting duties to help support the Head Office finance team as well as the operational branches at REMONDIS Australia.
What you’ll be doing
Processing of bank entries, non-complex accruals, prepayments, allocation entries and other non-complex journals for month-end
Preparation of selected balance sheet reconciliations as well as assisting in the follow up of supporting documentation for branch related balance sheet balances
Provide assistance to the Financial Accountant in the review and submission of CAPEX requests, asset disposals and transfers as well as general fixed asset register maintenance
Partner with the business in relation to financial queries/requests
Assist in the compilation and review of annual financial statements
Assist in providing supporting documentation for external audit purposes
Assist in the implementation and testing of system process improvements
Adhoc analysis, reporting, tax and project work as requested by the Senior Finance Manager
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Accounting
Currently completing CA/CPA qualification
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of financial principles
Willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook
