Job Description
This is a developmental role supporting the Fund Controller / Financial Controller with daily fund operations, alongside Gallium’s corporate accounting functions. The successful candidate will receive structured training and mentorship, with a clear progression pathway towards becoming a Fund Accountant.
Responsibilities
Drafting payments and reconciling bank and nominal ledger accounts
Monitoring fund agreements and ensuring compliance with fund-related deadlines
Maintaining purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cashbooks
Assisting with the preparation of monthly, annual, and ad hoc management accounts, including audit files
Drafting annual reports and calculating investor unit valuations
Supporting the review and preparation of tax and VAT returns
Undertaking other ad hoc duties as required by the business
Experience
A genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be a local candidate with a valid driving license and access to a vehicle
Advantageous Skills
Office-based experience within an accounts environment
Previous fund accounting or fund administration experience
Actively studying, or planning to study, towards AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualifications
