Title: Assistant Landscaper
Location: Los Angeles
Reports to: Landscaper
Salary: ($18.00 to $20.00)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am -4pm
Summary of position:
We are searching for a talented and dedicated landscaper to join our team. You will perform a range of general lawn maintenance duties including applying fertilizers, maintaining the landscape design, removing weeds and dead plants, trimming trees, and cutting grass.
As the landscaper assistant, you will be working as a team with our Landscaper to ensure the growth and vibrancy of our plants, flowers, lawn, and garden structures to all our apartment buildings. The ideal candidate will be creative, with excellent problem-solving time management and organizational skills.
Duties & responsibilities:
o Ability follows instructions and schedules set in place by supervisor.
o Ability to work as a team member.
o Effectively manage time and meeting all specified deadlines.
o Perform routine maintenance duties such as but not limited to, fixing sprinkler systems, fixing planters, ensuring the over all gardens are kept clean and safe.
o Ability Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
o Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping such as lawn mower, weed wacker, leaf blower, etc.
o Ability to rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed.
o Work as a team to maintain the grounds keeping of various buildings.
o Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
o Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture as needed or directed.
o Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the work areas.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
o Comprehensive knowledge of basic grounds keeping .
o Basic knowledge of safety practices and use of tools and equipment for grounds keeping.
o Some knowledge of sprinkler systems.
o Understanding of the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while working.
Requirements:
o Must be able to bend, reach and stand for extended periods.
o Ability to complete projects under short deadlines.
o Self-directed and able to work independently and in a team setting.
o Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
o Must be able to lift and carry items of 50lbs.
o Valid California Driver’s License or ID.
