Assistant Manager – HR and Recruitment (Pune Based)
As SkillSphere Education becomes a mature organization in the field of education, we are looking for an individual who can enforce HR policies, recruitment and systems in a more effective manner. This position has been managed directly by the leadership team up to now.
In addition, SkillSphere is always on the look-out for associate freelance trainers and full time employees for different positions. The Assistant Manager – HR and Recruitment is expected to take up key responsibility areas in both these domains.
The position of an Assistant Manager – HR and Recruitment will be Pune based.
A Typical Week In The Life Of An Assistant Manager – HR and Recruitment
Looking into effective implementation of HR policies among all employees and freelancers working with SkilSphere – including leaves, compensatory offs, reimbursements, disciplinary issues etc.
Interacting with members of the SkillSphere team to address any concerns/special requests and coordinate with the Managing Director in this regard
Work on recruitment drives through college meetings, online portals etc. for hiring of freelancers and full-time employees on a regular basis. This role will involve travel largely within Pune and from time to time – in Mumbai and Bangalore as well.
Coordinating between the employee training teams and fresh recruits to ensure successful onboarding
Conducting events for employee engagement (online and offline) as well as facilitation of other initiatives to boost employee morale and overall satisfaction
Conducting training sessions of SkillSphere Education's workshops in different schools across Pune. Every member of all teams at SkillSphere Education (except for the operations team) is a trainer as at SkillSphere, we are soft skills trainers with additional roles. This applies to this particular role as well. There might be special cases from time to time when you might have to travel to other cities in India as well but solely based on mutual convenience. This will be very rare though.
Visiting the Mumbai head office 1-2 times a month (morning-evening trips) for various discussions
Completing student reports, feedback forms and other responsibilities associated with conduct of specific workshops
Working with SkillSphere Education's core team on planning and strategization on a weekly basis.
What Should You Be Good At?
Communication skills: You must be able to speak freely and confidently with any person right from 8 to 80 years of age. Considering you are going to be assuming the role of a Soft Skills Trainer, you must be able to interact uninhibitedly in a range of environments.
Public speaking: While we don't expect you to be a Barack Obama, you should not suffer from stage fright or a complete lack of confidence when it comes to speaking in front of crowds. If this is not a problem, don't worry about other nuances of public speaking. You will be trained comprehensively for public relations, and conducting workshops, educational programmes and events.
Enforcing HR systems and policies: Making sure that people listen to you and follow instructions is a prerequisite for any person in the field of HR. Moreover, making sure that you have the ability to assert yourself and reprimand individuals in the case of transgressions is equally important.
You must be passionate about the field of education and teaching students: We are looking for people who are motivated about influencing social change through skill set development
Inter-personal skills and confidence when meeting/interacting with individuals otherwise unknown to you. You must also have good presentation skills

How Do We Assess Work?
SkillSphere Education follows a system which monitors task completion by all employees as per pre-decided timelines on a weekly basis. We value efficacy and efficiency over everything else. In case you get selected for this position, the company's overall health from an HR perspective and your performance as a trainer; and your ability to manage systems effectively and efficiently will play a major role in determining your performance.
Where Will You Be Working From?
You will be based out of Pune and will be reporting to one of our schools which will be your fixed location of work. From there, you will keep traveling on a case to case basis within Pune for other school workshops, HR drives etc.
1-2 times a month, you will visit the Mumbai office (morning-evening trips). There will be certain times during which you also might be engaged in offline recruitment drives at colleges in Mumbai or Bangalore.
What Can You Expect Your Starting Salary to Be?
We prefer making expectations of all potential applicants clear at the very inception. Based on your performance in the recruitment process, your suitability for this position will be assessed. If selected, then your starting salary can vary between ₹ 45,000/- and ₹ 50,000/- per month (₹ 5,40,000 to ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum apart from other benefits and allowances) dependent upon various factors and parameters including experience and qualifications.
