The Department of Media & Journalism nested under the Faculty of Communication, offers specializations in Advertising & Branding, Digital Marketing & Communications, Film & Television Management and Journalism. The Faculty of Communication at FLAME University is inviting applications for the position of full-time Assistant Professor in Film & Television Management.
While we welcome applicants from any area of Film & Television Management ,we are particularly interested in applicants with an expertise in areas such as Introduction to Film Making, Visual Storytelling, Film Appreciation, Business of Entertainment, Producing Films, Cinematography, Platforms and Content, The Art and Technique of Film Making, Fundamentals of Screen writing, Documentary Research and Production.
Those with a mix of experience in academia and industry will be preferred. A Ph.D. (completed or nearing submission) is required at the time of application.
Faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching, advising students, participating in faculty colloquia, and academic administration. Our expectation is that a successful applicant will:
1. Undertake independent high-quality research as well as work actively with existing members to build a strong interdisciplinary community of scholars who are committed to delivering cutting-edge research and innovation
2. Translate research findings into evidence-based practices, programs and policies
3. Remain committed to excellence in teaching- a core value of FLAME University- and adopt creative pedagogies that foster cultures of inclusion and diversity
4. Contribute to the department and university’s service requirements
