Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at AUT Refugee Education Centre. The successful candidate will work with various age groups in adult and mainstream education and provide support to students with higher needs.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping small groups of students with higher needs and will work a 5-day week. They must possess empathy for diverse learners, especially those from refugee backgrounds, alongside strong cultural intelligence and communication skills.
Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate must possess a teacher aide qualification or have teacher aide experience; an ESL/EFL certification being highly desirable. Prior experience working with migrants or former refugees is a plus, as well as proficiency in an additional language.
