Assistant Underwriter role

As an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a relationship-driven role that blends analytical thinking with a customer focus.

Minimum Starting Salary: $79,500 inclusive of 12% Super
Location: Sydney
About the Role:
Over two years, you will gain exposure and build technical skills within our Vero Specialty Lines team, gaining hands-on experience across the full underwriting lifecycle.
Master underwriting: assess, price, and manage a portfolio of commercial insurance products.
Build trusted relationships: work with brokers and clients to negotiate and deliver tailored solutions.
See the bigger picture: gain exposure to claims, legal, and other teams to understand the entire insurance value chain.
Grow your commercial acumen: manage real-world portfolios, analyse risks, and contribute to strategic decisions.
Collaborate across Suncorp: connect with experts to create smarter, customer-focused risk solutions.

Completion of Higher School Certificate or equivalent within the last two years (2024 or 2025) with a minimum ‘pass’ grade
