Responsibilities
Chewy is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Associate Director of Performance Marketing (PM) Strategy with expertise in automation, AI integration, and project management to join our team
This role is integral to our performance marketing strategy, driving initiatives that improve customer engagement, optimize campaigns, and elevate the overall pet parent experience
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analytics, data science, product, and performance marketing, to envision AI-driven solutions and automation in our marketing workflows
You'll own working with our marketing science and operations (MSO) teams to develop the roadmap for integrating tools that boost efficiency, personalization, and return on investment across digital channels, advancing Chewy’s efforts to automate bidding, campaign and content creation, ensuring Chewy remains a leader in data-driven customer engagement
Strategic Planning and Execution
Work with MSO to craft and implement innovative marketing strategies that leverage automation and AI for enhanced targeting, personalization, and performance
Collaborate with senior leadership, channel leads and cross-functional teams to align marketing goals with Chewy’s broader business objectives, driving increased customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value
Analyze market trends and new technologies in AI and automation to find opportunities that can be adopted to improve Chewy’s marketing capabilities
Automation and AI Integration
Orchestrate the joint development with MSO of AI technologies, machine learning models, and marketing automation tools across performance marketing channels
Help develop automated customer journeys and sophisticated content personalization strategies for performance marketing to deliver relevant and timely experiences, growing engagement and conversion rates
Evaluate, test, and optimize new automation and AI solutions to continually improve campaign performance and marketing operations
Project Management
Orchestrate the management of performance marketing’s 2025 key initiatives
Work with channel leads to translate 2025 roadmaps into clear sprints, outcomes and measurement dashboards

Lead WBR, MBR, QBR and annual planning processes for the performance marketing team
Oversea for the PM team working with the MSO team on multiple marketing automation projects, from conception to launch, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets and resources
Partner with analytics and product teams to ensure smooth implementation, data accuracy, and performance tracking for AI and automation projects
Use project management tools to maintain clear communication, handle risks, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with performance marketing, analytics, product, integrated marketing and creative teams to ensure alignment and maximum impact of automation and AI initiatives
Serve as the subject matter expert for the performance marketing team on automation and AI

Key Responsibilities:
