Ready to make your mark in a newly created role where detail truly matters? Join Auckland Council’s Performance, Information and Assurance team within the Resilience and Infrastructure directorate as our next Associate Quality Assurance Assessor.


Starting mid to late January 2026, this is your opportunity to shape how Auckland Council measures and improves the quality of its regulated services. You’ll dive into the systems and processes that keep our city running, from building and environmental health to other compliance areas, ensuring they meet both legislative standards and the expectations of our communities.


If you’re a detail-oriented professional who enjoys understanding how things work (and how they can work better), this role offers a genuine chance to make an impact.


Salary range: $100,000 – $110,000 (depending on experience)
Permanent, full-time position. This is a hybrid position.


You could expect to work on:

Conduct independent audits of systems and processes to ensure compliance and quality.
Analyse results and translate findings into practical, meaningful improvements.
Collaborate with managers to resolve non-conformances and strengthen performance.
Provide insight and guidance to teams, building a culture of learning and accountability.
Help shape a new approach to assurance across one of New Zealand’s most complex organisations.

You’re naturally analytical and thrive in environments where accuracy and integrity matter. Ideally, you’ll have experience in a regulated or compliance-based field (like building, planning, food, or ******* licensing) and an interest in continuous improvement.


You’ll bring a calm, collaborative mindset, strong communication and report-writing skills, and confidence navigating complex systems or standards such as the Building Act, Resource Management Act, or ISO/IEC 17020.
