We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assurance Adviser to join our Corporate Governance team. Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate Governance, you will be responsible for supporting the internal audit program, liaising with internal auditors and ensuring effective risk management.

The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assurance Adviser to join our Corporate Governance team. Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate Governance, you will be responsible for supporting the internal audit program, liaising with internal auditors and ensuring effective risk management. Key responsibilities include:
Effectively plan internal audits, engage with internal auditors and work in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Reviewing and assessing the implementation of low rated internal audit findings, ensuring internal compliance against the risk register is maintained
Support an audit culture, where audit findings are reported, communicated and understood, and display positive risk culture for the Authority
Support the Manager, Corporate Governance to execute the other risk, assurance, and governance activities of the Authority
About you
To be successful as the Assurance Adviser you will hold qualifications or have relevant experience assurance, risk management, public administration, or governance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce comprehensive reports and briefs within specified timeframes. The ideal candidate will be able to partner with key stakeholders and work collaboratively whilst maintaining privacy and confidentiality when working with sensitive information. You will need to be proactive and solutions focused to apply critical thinking and perspective in response to audit recommendations.
