We are looking for an Audit Director who will guide and shape our global audit function with a focus on transparency, excellence, and measurable impact. The position reports functionally to the Audit Committee of the Sensient Technologies Board of Directors and administratively to the Chief Executive Officer. It is based at our corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, WI, USA however substantial travel will be required on a project-by-project basis, including international destinations.
What you’ll do
Design and lead the organization’s internal audit strategy based on areas of greatest risk and opportunity
Guide a team of professionals through thoughtful, thorough audits of financial reporting, operational activities, and internal controls
Provide independent evaluations of processes, programs, and performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals
Work closely with senior leaders to monitor risk management, compliance, and governance effectiveness
Facilitate collaboration with external auditors and legal teams on financial, operational, or ethical matters
Develop and deliver clear, actionable reports and recommendations following each audit
Serve as a key liaison with the Board’s Audit Committee, providing timely updates and insights
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification required; MBA strongly preferred
Ideally 6 years of experience in public accounting, with exposure to both operational and financial audits considered a strong asset
Deep experience leading internal audit functions, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and Board members
Strong analytical mindset grounded in objectivity, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity
Global experience and the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and geographic regions preferred
