About the Role:
As a Lab Assistant at Aurobindo Pharma, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and ensuring the efficient functioning of laboratory processes. You will assist scientists, technicians, and other laboratory staff in conducting experiments, analyzing samples, and maintaining lab equipment and facilities. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist laboratory staff in conducting experiments, performing tests, and analyzing samples according to established protocols and procedures.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and specimens for testing, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and glassware, maintain laboratory supplies and inventory, and ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Monitor and record experimental data, observations and results accurately and legibly, and maintain organized records and documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, troubleshoot instrument malfunctions, and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), handling hazardous materials safely, and following proper waste disposal practices.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory, including work areas, storage areas, and equipment, to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and colleagues to support ongoing research projects, share information and expertise, and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in laboratory techniques, safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and procedures, including sample preparation, microscopy, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and regulatory requirements, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to follow instructions, maintain records, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
