Avaya Aura Telecom Engineer – AI & Innovation Platforms / 12+ Month Contract with Right to Hire
Atlanta, GA 30303; Hybrid 4 days onsite, 1day WFH / Pay: $65 - $75 per hour W-2 ONLY

CBTS is searching for an Avaya Aura Telecom Engineer that would be responsible for AI and Innovation of the telecom Platform. Candidates will be responsible for supporting and evolving enterprise telephony systems while partnering closely with Innovation and AI teams to enable modern, automated workflows. This role bridges legacy enterprise voice infrastructure (e.g., Avaya Aura) with cloud-based AI, analytics, and workflow automation platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, compliance, and a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support Avaya Aura 10.1 and Communication Manager environments
• Configure and maintain stations, virtual stations, bridge appearances, vectors, skills, and call routing
• Support Avaya AES (TSAPI/DMCC), integrations, and permissions, and vendor application access
• Create and maintain Avaya CMS reports and analytics
• Partner with AI and Innovation teams to support conversational AI and virtual agent platforms (e.g. Hyro)
• Support AI-to-agent handoffs and workflow customization
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and networking teams supporting AWS-hosted platforms
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, policies, and configuration templates
• Participate in platform lifecycle planning, upgrades, testing, and change management
• Support telecom reporting and data analysis for business and leadership
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of enterprise telecom engineering experience
• Strong expertise in Avaya Aura / Communication Manager
• Hands-on experience with Avaya AES and CMS
• Experience with contact center environments
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and technical documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting AI or conversational platforms (e.g., Hyro)
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud architectures
• Enterprise level experience
• Experience with workflow automation and reporting analytics
• Lead the design and deployment of a high-fidelity Avaya Aura test environment within AWS.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and data governance requirements for regulated environments
