The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for delivering the Aviation Meteorological Services (AMS) portfolio, which provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Aviation Systems Specialist with demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of service oriented, technical meteorological operational capability within the ALMT program. The product and service offerings may be multi-disciplined and will involve working with colleagues across several Programmes of the Bureau, including managing technical input from areas such as information systems and services, research, and operational forecasting.
This position would suit an applicant with outstanding communication skills, who has a high degree of initiative and ability to self-manage. Experience establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders and delivery teams across the Bureau, employing a consultative and influencing approach is essential. To be successful, you will be experienced in operational aviation meteorology, have shown initiative by actively developing systems to improve aviation forecasting, and have an understanding of the technology that underpins Aviation Service Delivery.
