Contract
Seeking a Senior AWS Engineer to support the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS services, with expertise in ECS, EKS, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Kafka, Terraform, S3, and Route 53. This role requires strong proficiency in Python and Java, along with a solid understanding of cloud architecture and best practices. You will be responsible for managing cloud environments, automating processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cloud Infrastructure Management:
• Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments using AWS ECS, EKS, S3, Route 53, DynamoDB, and related AWS services.
• Architect and maintain cloud-based applications with a focus on containerized solutions using ECS and EKS.
• Optimize infrastructure and applications for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Use Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management across AWS services.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automated monitoring, management, and reporting.
• Database Management:
• Design and optimize high-performance, scalable databases using MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for databases in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot, tune, and ensure the availability of databases for production applications.
• Messaging and Streaming Services:
• Implement Kafka solutions for real-time data streaming and event-driven architecture.
• Design and manage reliable data pipelines for integration with various applications and services.
• Monitoring and Optimization:
• Utilize AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other monitoring tools to track infrastructure and application performance.
• Implement logging, alerting, and monitoring best practices to ensure system health and reduce downtime.
• Proactively monitor cloud infrastructure for cost optimization and performance improvements.
• Collaboration and Documentation:
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure best practices in cloud architecture and development.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and share knowledge about AWS services and cloud solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on cloud architectures, configurations, and processes.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• AWS Services: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS ECS, EKS, S3, Route 53, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, API Gateway, and other AWS services.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Strong experience with ECS (Elastic Container Service) and EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), including creating, deploying, and managing containerized applications.
• Databases: Extensive experience with MongoDB (self-managed or as a service) and DynamoDB for high-volume, low-latency applications.
• Kafka: Knowledge and hands-on experience with Kafka for building scalable, real-time data streaming applications.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in Terraform to automate AWS infrastructure provisioning.
• Programming Languages: Strong experience in Python and Java for developing and automating cloud solutions.
• Networking: Understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, and IAM policies.
• Security: Implement best practices for securing cloud infrastructure, databases, and applications, including encryption and access controls.
Experience:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS.
• Proven track record of designing and managing scalable, high-performance cloud environments using AWS services.
• Experience with containerized applications, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong experience in using Terraform for infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and serverless architectures.
• Exposure to Serverless frameworks and AWS SageMaker for ML workloads.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Familiarity with CloudFormation for managing AWS resources.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
