Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Architect with a strong technical background in Node.js to design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of software architecture, cloud services, and security best practices. You will be responsible for leading the backend team, defining architecture standards, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in software development.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend architectures.
• Create and maintain architecture documents, including HLD/LLD, ER diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
• Provide technical leadership to the backend development team, ensuring high-quality code and optimal performance.
• Define and implement microservices architecture with best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and implement static code analysis tools like SonarQube and Linters.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, propose optimizations, and conduct load testing.
• Ensure the applications scalability through vertical and horizontal scaling strategies.
• Lead the implementation of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT, Cognito, SSO, ADFS, LDAP, and Firebase.
• Guide data migration strategies and approaches for seamless data transitions.
• Oversee CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins, AWS CICD, Bitbucket CICD, GitHub Hooks, CircleCI, or Serverless frameworks.
• Work on containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions using CloudWatch, New Relic, Instana, Graylog, ELK, etc.
• Ensure security compliance by identifying vulnerabilities, conducting code scans, and performing security audits.
Backend Technologies
• Strong proficiency in Node.js with experience in Express.js, Nest.js, or Serverless Framework.
• Expertise in writing unit test cases using Mocha, Jest, or Jasmine.
• Knowledge of ORMs such as Sequelize, TypeORM, or Mongoose.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL implementation.
Database & Storage
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Expertise in schema design, indexing, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Experience with ElasticSearch and Redis for search and caching.
• Hands-on knowledge of job scheduling, pub/sub mechanisms, storage, and gateway management.
Cloud & DevOps
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, GCP, or Heroku cloud platforms.
• Experience with CDN providers such as Akamai, CloudFront, or Cloudflare.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment strategies.
Security & Performance
• Deep understanding of top 10 security vulnerabilities and best practices for secure coding.
• Experience in performance tuning, load balancing, and optimizing application performance.
• Knowledge of application and infrastructure monitoring tools like CloudWatch, New Relic, ELK, etc.
Soft Skills
• Excellent problem-solving, logical, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to drive technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
