Position Summary
The Backup Driver/ Delivery Assistant will be responsible for helping us deliver and set up merchandise from the warehouse to customers’ home. Also, assisting with the day to day operations of the local warehouse in both shipping and receiving capacities, when necessary. You will be required to have 5-ton delivery truck driving experience.
Job Responsibilities
Backup Driver Duties
Gather and prepare merchandise for delivery
Daily local delivery of home furniture in the Calgary area
Securing your load in a safe and proper fashion
Clean and wash delivery truck as required
Notify management when service is required on delivery trucks
Warehouse Assistant Duties
Assist in the loading of merchandise in and out of trucks
Pull and prepare merchandise for delivery
Assist with customer furniture load-outs
Sort and stock incoming shipments
Help maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
General Duties
Follow all Nordic policies and procedures
Maintain a safe work environment and report any deficiencies
Job Qualifications
Class 5 license (air brakes not required)
Physical capability to handle furniture
Team oriented personality
Ability to set up and prepare furniture
Positive, energetic attitude and ability to work within a team environment
Flexible and adaptable
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
2-3 years of experience in a similar role
Criminal Background check will be required to ensure our customer's and your co-worker’s safety
