Job Description
A well-established Canadian owned camp catering company is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the role of Baker & Breakfast Cook 2 weeks in 2 weeks out rotation at a remote work camp in (Red Lake Ontario). This position will be accountable for preparing pastries and other baked goods along with prepping and preparing breakfast for about 200 people daily. They will report directly to the Executive Chef
on site accommodations and meals are provided
Air transportation is provided from Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.
Responsibilities
Promote and foster a safe work environment.
Take direction from and work with Executive Chef to meet goals and requirements
Manage the bakery operations including food preparation, cleaning schedules, safety, ordering, and inventory control
Prepare breakfast for 200 people daily following the established menu
Ensure all food products served to the client meet or exceed their expectations
Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow up
Supervise night shift employees working in the kitchen
Respond to after hour emergency needs of the clients
Bake the items that are on the menu and have them ready in time for the morning and evening meals.
Follow the formulas on a consistent basis to keep the quality and food cost constant.
Bake breads, rolls, specialty breads and sweet dough, pastries, flat cakes, squares, cookies …
Keep working area in good sanitary order and rotate both stock and service finished as well as semi-finished goods to achieve the highest quality products.
Perform all other duties when asked to assure the smooth running of the operation.

Qualifications:
· Valid Foodsafe Certificate
· Demonstrated communication, problem solving, organizational and people management skills
· Minimum 3 years of baking experience in a camp setting
