Job Description
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero/MYOB
Record day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliations and credit card statement reconciliation
Process payroll, 2 monthly GST returns, PAYE, and other tax obligations
Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
Monitor project costs and assist with job costing
Verify recorded transactions and report irregularities to management
Work closely with the company director and external accountant
Maintain filing systems and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Key Skills & Job Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum one-year proven experience as a bookkeeper
Experience in the construction accounting business is preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
