About the Job
Frederick + Sherwin is a small public accounting office based in Sherwood Park looking to hire a full-time bookkeeper to start as soon as possible. You'll join a team of 6 other full-time people in our local office where we provide accounting, tax, business advisory and bookkeeping services to owner managed businesses in the greater Edmonton are. We primarily use QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and the office suite of applications.
Responsibilities
Given the size of our office, the position will involve many functions over many roles; however your primary responsibilities will consist of bookkeeping and administrative functions including:
- Full-cylce accounting and data entry from client records (physical and digital)
- Payroll calculations and support, including generating pay stubs, T4 filings, WCB returns, etc
- Monthly and quarterly reporting to be updated, reconciled and provided to clients.
- Respond to various client requests to provide information and reports, and coordinate between our clients and other staff in the office to facilitate solutions
Skills
- Accounting diploma, technical training or relevant work experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Previous experience in public accounting roles or bookkeeping company is an asset

- Our office is completely paperless (excepting client records)
- Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience
- Benefits will start after probationary period (3 months)
- Notwithstanding our technology-centred approach, our principal goal is to deliver an excellent client experience and your ability to provide this is considered above all else
Currently, we are in the midst of personal tax season up to the end of April. We will be short listing candidates and will be reaching out in the first week of May.
