In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
EDUCATION
Stream 1 & 2:
Acceptable combination of training and experience in Facility Maintenance; OR
Provincial certification at the Journeyman level in a building trades; OR
Possession of valid Stationary Engineer/Refrigeration ticket; OR
Successful completion of a building System Technician diploma or equivalent; OR
Diploma in Instrumentation and Controls in building systems.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
Stream 1 & 2:
Experience using Microsoft Office Applications such as Outlook and Excel.

Stream 1:
Experience in a Building/Facility Preventive Maintenance program.
Experience with AutoCAD and interpreting drawings of mechanical systems such as piping and pump schematics.

Stream 2:
Experience in providing operation, technical and maintenance services for office or commercial facilities.
Experience in participation on teams for delivery of maintenance management services and operations.
Experience in supervision of staff and/or contractors and/or multi trade teams in conducting preventive maintenance.

Stream 1 & 2:
Experience with Renewable Energy methods and techniques.
Experience with Contract Administration Regulations and procedures.

Stream 1:
Experience with Building Automations Systems (BAS).
Experience with Geothermal heating and cooling system.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and associated Motor Controls.

Stream 2:
Experience with Geothermal heating and cooling system.
Experience with Federal and Provincial Environmental Regulations.

KNOWLEDGE
Stream 1& 2:
Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, repair, upkeep and minor improvements of buildings and related systems.
Knowledge of Safety principles related to the use, handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials (WHMIS).
Knowledge of building systems, such as heating ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, civil infrastructure.

Ability to monitor and inspect work by staff and contractors.

Conditions of employment
Stream 1 & 2:
Reliability Security Clearance.
Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Must be able to be on call (rotational basis) and respond to emergency calls to work outside normal hours.
Must be able to work overtime.
Ability to lift over 50 lb.
Physical ability to climb up and down a ladder, as well as to work inside or outside closed spaces or confined areas.
Wearing required personal protection equipment.
