Job Description
• Development of the Basel III and EBA compliant models for GPB segment.
• Quantification and impact assessment of new regulations (such as Collateral Eligibility, Basel 3 proposed floors, etc.) on the existing GPB portfolios benefitting and propose solutions to optimise RWAs.
• Perform the quantification and end-point validation of the developed models in line with the other existing models.
• Undertake and refresh Article 146 activity to address the identified gaps to the regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with GPB model developers to understand technical aspects of model that needs to be developed. Subsequently create modelling infrastructure including the model performance testing of models and present in technical forums.
• Ensure project timelines are being adhered and highlight any risks to delivery well in advance.
• Operate in a more agile fashion and conduct timely briefings on progress of work as opposed to only communicating via emails.
• Support end to end delivery inclusive addressing IMR/ Audit/ Group or Regional review requirements, if any.

• Timely completion of planned activities without any delay attributable to GSC functions.
• Recorded evidence by Line Manager and business stakeholders
• Cross train with other regions within CCO team for optimal resource utilization

Impact on the Business
• Engage with GPB stakeholders to present model compliance with applicable regulation, and devise model solutions and business changes to ensure ongoing compliance with regulation.
• Enhance modelling methodologies and global model development standards to meet the expectations and requirements of multiple regulators including the PRA, HKMA, FINMA, MAS, CSSF, and OCC, amongst others in line with the new Basel 3 requirements.
• Ensure that the requirements set out in HSBC Model Risk Policy and Standards are satisfied and that modelling activities and relevant documentation are recorded into the HSBC’s global model inventory system (GMIS) and the team file system.
Supervise requests made by the regulator for locally implemented models and analytics. Work with industry panels to keep abreast of trends in model risk, changes in regulation, help form HSBC’s position on emerging topics and ensure HSBC’s views are considered in consultations and other rule-making processes in countries as appropriate
