Job description
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The GMC Architecture Community is growing and has an opening for a Senior Project Manager/Project Architect for justice architectural projects in Greater Tampa Bay Area. The Senior Project Manager/Project Architect is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of exceptional projects.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities Include
• Leads project team working within the GMC Architecture Community framework respecting team structure, project roles and responsibilities, and utilization of production tools and standards.
• Member of multi-office architecture practice sharing, contributing, and learning best practices for delivering exceptional projects that include local government/civic, academic and healthcare.
• Broad general knowledge of architectural principles and practices, and proven ability to apply them.
• Ability to function effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
• Understanding of the entire project process-development/scoping, design, and construction.
• Ability to design and detail a complete project, system component or process.
• Prepares complete project documents including the Project Manual/Specifications
• Understands economic and decision analysis principles in area including financial, regulatory, and environmental issues.
• Proficient in Revit Architecture, and complementary design tools.
• Assigns tasks to and directs architects, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the architectural work.
• Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.
• Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
• Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
• Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of architectural assignment.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and continuous improvement with decision-making time management and delegation.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
• Registered Architect or completed NCARB Program
• Proficient in Revit
• Must be able to listen and communicate effectively
• Must be a self-starter, team player and able to establish good working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, team members, and other employees
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs
• Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions
Travel Requirements
• GMC Architecture is a nationwide practice with clients, completed projects and active projects in 36 states. Travel to project sites may be required.

The Strategic Analysis Group (SAG) provides Architecture and Analysis expertise to guide the First American Title Group of Businesses in shaping business and technology strategy. Our team of certified professionals have deep experience in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Process Architecture, and Business Systems Analysis. We partner with cross-functional leaders and their teams, to deliver insights, and enable business and technology transformations from strategy through implementation. Role Overview The Business Architect is responsible for both leading key analysis efforts and developing business architecture views that align with business & technology goals. This role bridges business vision and operational execution, ensuring strategies are supported by actionable plans, well-defined capabilities, and integrated architecture domains (e.g., Value Streams, Capabilities, Information, Stakeholders, Initiatives). They will also help analyze current state processes to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. Their work will enable executives and teams to make faster, more informed decisions that drive transformation, and measurable business outcomes.
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
• Develop clear and actionable artifacts and maintain current and future state architectural and analysis assets, using best practices and standards.
• Lead key analysis and optimization efforts to map current state, identify gaps, requirements and business needs, and develop future state recommendations aimed at enhancing efficiency, customer experience and ensuring alignment of solutions with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with all levels of cross-functional teams to bridge business strategy with execution, translating goals into actionable operational steps.
• Develop relationships with business and technology leaders to inform strategy development and recommend solutions through capability gap analysis, and any other business insights/counsel as required.
• Contribute to transformation efforts and other complex change initiatives.
• Contribute to the group’s Center of Excellence through development and maintenance of architecture and analysis standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Partner with enterprise architects and key organizational stakeholders to implement a strategic plan for leveraging integrated business architecture as part of the enterprise architecture.
• Uses Business Architecture to agitate and initiate action and communicates business impact to enable change management.
• Manages multiple, concurrent deadline-driven initiatives and collaborates with required teams to meet implementation goals.
• Synthesizes and communicates findings through presentations, reports or other artifacts to stakeholders using appropriate tools to enable decision making.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING : Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure
• Generally, requires a degree in Business or other relevant Degrees and equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience working with Business teams, along with 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience in Business Architecture
• Experience in applying business architecture and business analysis in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Certified Business Architect (CBA) ® preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
• Strong understanding of Business Architecture principles and practices.
• Strong analytical skills—in current state and future state mapping, uncovering root causes, interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, and recommending creative solutions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—able to tailor complex information to diverse audiences using required tools and artifacts.
• Skilled in problem analysis, research, data and process analysis, and stakeholder engagement
• Has strong knowledge of core business functions, production, and/or operation environment and general cost benefit awareness.
• Experience of working with business and technology teams and influencing change
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and their business implications.
Pay Range: $115,000- $145,000 annually
