Small Business Banking is part of CBA Business Banking and provides in-branch, face-to-face and remote support to small businesses across Australia. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Business Banker to join our Haymarket branch. As part of a high-performing team, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to Small Business customers by understanding their business and personal goals, and supporting them through the end-to-end fulfilment of their financial needs.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving business development within the Sydney CBD business community, while also strengthening existing client relationships through premium service delivery.

More specifically, you will:

Lead meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and needs, and provide timely, tailored financial solutions. This includes originating products such as commercial lending up to $1.25M, asset finance, merchant facilities, and everyday banking solutions.

Proactively engage customers to support both their business and personal aspirations, preparing for conversations with valuable insights. You’ll also be familiar with home ownership solutions available to business customers.

Act as a brand ambassador in the local business community, promoting CBA’s business banking proposition. You may also host small business education events to support financial wellbeing.

Attend key stakeholder meetings regularly to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services, build referral partnerships, and address service challenges collaboratively.

We want to hear from you if you have:

Experience in commercial lending or B2B sales

Home lending exposure (preferred)

Strong financial analysis skills and commercial acumen

Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills

Proven ability to engage customers both face-to-face and remotely

Experience managing a pipeline of opportunities and facilitating proactive customer contact

Passion for Small Business customers or direct experience in running a Small Business

FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation

Credit Approval Authority (CAA) Level 2, or willingness to obtain within 6 months

Formal training to support home lending discussions, such as Cert IV in Banking Services (preferred)
