DairyNZ’s story
Deliver a positive future for New Zealand dairy farming
Te whakaputa i te anamata kounga mō ngā pāmu kau o Aotearoa
We are full of people who have a passion for delivering great outcomes and creating positive change. We leverage our collective strength by bringing the dairy sector together, helping farmers build more sustainable, profitable, and resilient farm businesses; because a strong dairy sector means a strong New Zealand.
Your opportunity
This is a key role within DairyNZ’s Digital Technologies function, offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and delivery. As a Business Systems Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how digital solutions support and enable DairyNZ’s business operations, helping the organisation achieve its strategic objectives.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, solution and enterprise architects, and delivery teams to understand challenges, explore opportunities, and design practical, fit-for-purpose solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll help translate complex business requirements into clear system and technical requirements that align with DairyNZ’s enterprise architecture and future digital direction.
This role offers variety and influence — from contributing to early-stage problem definition and business cases, through to supporting delivery, testing, and successful transition into business-as-usual. You’ll also support continuous improvement across DairyNZ’s digital landscape, including identifying opportunities for optimisation, integration, automation, and AI-enabled transformation.
If you enjoy building strong relationships, working across diverse stakeholders, and making meaningful impact through well-designed digital solutions, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation supporting New Zealand’s dairy sector.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Digital Delivery Lead, you will support the Digital Technologies team, and will:
Build strong relationships across DairyNZ to understand business needs, processes, and opportunities for optimisation
Analyse current and future state processes, perform gap analysis, and recommend pragmatic digital solutions
Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements aligned with enterprise architecture
Partner with architects, project managers, and delivery teams to support solution design and delivery
Support testing activities, including preparing test scripts and coordinating user acceptance testing
Act as a change agent, supporting system adoption and transition into BAU
Apply AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and support AI-enabled transformation
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with a collaborative, relationship-driven approach.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
A tertiary qualification in Information and Communications Technology (or similar)
At least 5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst role
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
Experience working across technical and non-technical stakeholders
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI or automation to improve efficiency
Nice to have:
8+ years’ experience in a similar role
Exposure to project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2)
Experience with ITIL or service management practices
