As a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) Operator, you will be responsible for helping Transit Public Safety Officers in the field with requests related to criminal backgrounds of individuals. Primary duties include:
Enter, audit, monitor, and communicate for investigative purposes all records to effectively deal with information of persons involved in criminal activity.
Communicate using a 10-Code system.
Respond to requests via radio, telephone and CPIC messages.
Interpret and provide information to Transit Public Safety Officers to ensure officer and public safety.
Facilitate information sharing to field personnel and outside agencies (such as Peace Officers, Police, RCMP, and Immigration).
Interpret and provide information to Public Safety and Enforcement Officers to ensure officer and public safety.
Enter, validate, modify and remove records on CPIC and other software systems.
Access and assess the accuracy of information to assist police agencies with serious criminal investigations across Canada.
Maintain the integrity and security of all systems used in the division.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalency (i.e. GED) and at least 1 year of law enforcement support experience working with violation tickets, appearance notices, warrants and release documents.
Knowledge of and/or experience with the CPIC system is required.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
A typing speed of 50 words per minute will be an asset.
A completed RCMP CPIC Operator Maintenance Certificate and/or CPIC Query/Narrative Course Certificate will be considered an asset. Successful candidates will be required to obtain this Certification through on site e-learning.
You have excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to effectively probe for required information, along with strong critical thinking and decision making skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
RCMP fingerprint based security clearance will be conducted.

Compensation: Pay Grade 6 $33.2+ - 44.52 per hour
Days of Work: The CPIC Centre operates 24/7
with rotating daytime, afternoon and night shifts,
including weekends and statutory holidays.
Hours of work: Non-standard 40 hour work week
