Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cantonese Speaking Home Support Worker to provide personalized care and assistance to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Cantonese and possess a strong background in senior care, disability support, and home health services. This role involves delivering quality patient-centered care, supporting daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients with diverse needs. The Home Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and independence of individuals requiring assistance with their health and daily routines.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to detect any changes or concerns
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
Support clients with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive impairments
Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely during transfers
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and progress notes
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning to ensure a safe living environment
Follow prescribed care plans developed by healthcare professionals
Adhere to all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams in Cantonese
Qualifications
Fluency in Cantonese is required; proficiency in English is preferred
Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary; physically capable of assisting with mobility support
Strong observational skills with the ability to monitor patient safety and well-being
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills in Cantonese and English
Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between client locations
