Join Miwatj Health and be part of our Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Program, supporting people across East Arnhem Land through culturally safe, holistic, and trauma-informed care. As an SEWB Case Manager, you’ll work alongside clients, families, and communities to build strengths, support recovery, and make a genuine difference in people’s lives. You’ll develop and deliver individualised case plans, coordinate supports with key services, facilitate culturally appropriate community activities, and mentor Community Workers, all while experiencing the unique opportunity to travel to remote communities by light aircraft. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about mental health, community-led care, and working in a purpose-driven organisation.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role for an initial six (6) months, with the opportunity to extend to up to twelve (12) months for the right candidate. This role requires regular travel to remote communities across East Arnhem Land, including travel on small aircraft.

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is committed to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, with an understanding of the experiences of Yolŋu people living in remote communities. You’ll bring relevant qualifications or industry-based training in Community Services, Mental Health or Social Work, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll be reliable, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with sound record-keeping and reporting skills, and a willingness to travel to remote communities by light aircraft for up to five days at a time. A current NT Ochre Card is required, with First Aid, professional membership, and a manual driver’s licence considered advantageous.
