About the Opportunity
MCM’s Community Integration Accommodation Options (CIAO) Caseworker provides outreach-based support to young people involved in Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care.
The CIAO program consists of two models of support: Lead Tenant and Targeted Care Packages (TCPs).
Lead Tenant is a supported accommodation model delivered across four properties, with live-in Lead Tenant volunteers, supporting young people aged 15-18.
Targeted Care Packages (TCPs) are individualised funding and support packages for young people under 19, designed to prevent entry into Out-of-Home Care accommodation services.
This role is guided by Trauma-Informed, Healing-Oriented, and Strengths-Based principles, underpinned by Developmental and Attachment theories, enabling creative, capacity-building, and person-centred care that effectively meets the complex needs of vulnerable young people.
The CIAO program provides flexible, responsive, and safe support that fosters independent living skills, wellbeing, and positive social, educational, and community connections. Caseworkers work directly with young people in homes, supported accommodation, and community settings, and collaborate closely with service providers and care team members to deliver tailored support.
About you
We are looking for someone who can:
Provide a youth-centred and therapeutic approach
Demonstrate knowledge of adolescent development and Trauma-Informed Care
Understand relevant service systems including Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care
Apply expertise in Trauma-Informed Care, Attachment Theory, Strengths-Based Practice, and cultural safety
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Essential:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Community, Social Work, Youth Work or related field
Ability to establish and maintain cohesive working relationships with a broad range of networks
High level of communication skills, organization and time management skills, including technological competency
Expertise in case management, including assessment and planning processes; ability to actively and assertively engage young people with complex needs
Desirable; knowledge and experience using CRIS/CRISSP systems
Screening Criteria:
National Police check
Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
Valid Victorian Driver's license
Right to Work in Australia
