Join our warm, family-run Italian bakery café in the lovely residential area of Smithfield! We’re looking for an energetic, reliable Café All-Rounder with previous hospitality experience who can jump in wherever needed and keep things running smoothly.
About the Role
Casual position
Hours: WED to FRI 2:30pm to 5:30pm. May vary with weekly rostering, weekend days or longer hours could be offered if other staff cannot make it to the shift.
Fast-paced, hands-on environment where everyone helps everyone
Work alongside a friendly team and serve wonderful locals
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing friendly, efficient customer service
Operating a POS system with confidence
Handling basic maths for transactions and cash handling
Serving food and maintaining displays
Assisting with coffee service (bonus if you can make coffee!)
Keeping the café clean: washing dishes, wiping tables, mopping floors
Restocking items and helping with general café tasks as needed
Supporting a smooth service flow in a busy rush
What We’re Looking For
Previous hospitality experience is essential
Someone proactive, punctual, and on the ball
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, positive attitude with strong customer-service skills
A team player who’s happy to help with any task
Good communication and ability to stay calm under pressure
Basic food-safety awareness a plus
Barista experience is a strong bonus, but not required
