Do you have sound understanding of lifeguard/ instructor principles? Are you able to practice good judgement? Do you have exceptional communication skills and the aptitude to command the attention of an audience? Do you have previous supervisory experience and are passionate about aquatics recreation? What YOU’RE Responsible for:
Direct supervision and safety of patrons; ensure compliance with governing bodies
Ensure facility patrons are enjoying the pool amenities in a safe manner; address and correct unsafe or unruly behaviour; practice and encourage safe work behaviour and educate patrons
Be an active leader who ensures health and safety standards are implemented and maintained
Train lifeguard/instructors during shadow shifts and complete required paperwork
Recognize the signs of emergencies and take appropriate first aid actions with completion of required documentation
Develop lesson plans, instruct swim lessons to children and youth of all skill level, and provide required feedback
Daily pool maintenance duties
Ensure a clean, safe and enjoyable environment is maintained
Other duties as assigned
What YOU Bring:
LSS Swim Instructor
LSS National Lifeguard
Intermediate First Aid
A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and a Child Services Intervention Check
Demonstrated lifeguarding and/or instructor abilities and skills
Ability to meet the shift requirements; shifts will include hours between 4:45 AM and 4:00 PM
Experience with directing children and youth.
Must be available to work at least one week day and one weekend day per week
Ability to resolve conflict and problem solve
Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team

What WE Offer:
Up to 29 hours per week
$21.42 – $26.72 per hour (based on qualifications/certifications and experience)
Membership to the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre
