About the Role:
The Archdiocese of Washington is seeking an exceptional Elementary School Teacher to lead our students in academic excellence and character development. As a member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of our young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and implement lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of all students, incorporating direct instruction, guided practice, and hands-on activities.
Assess student progress regularly, using data to inform instruction and adjust strategies as needed.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and Catholic learning environment that promotes mutual respect and cooperation among students, teachers, and parents.
Communicate effectively with parents and administration through regular updates on student progress and achievements.
Promote Catholic values and traditions in the classroom, fostering a deeper understanding of social justice and witness service to others.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Current teacher certification in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC (candidates have 3 years from hire to earn their certification)
Knowledge of child development and supervision
Experience teaching in an elementary school setting (preferred)
