About the role
The Safety and Quality Coordinator accepts accountability for the outcomes of a comprehensive range of projects relating to the clinical program with a primary safety and quality focus. The role will develop, oversee, manage, and evaluate programs and systems to address inconsistencies between practice and policy, contributing to a safe and positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes.
The Safety and Quality Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of the Clinical Programs reform agenda through the coordination of a range of projects. Provide advice on matters related to nursing practice and assist with the design, implementation and management of the Safety and Quality plan for the clinical program in addition to supporting the planning for accreditation, risk management processes and information systems management for the Clinical Program.
A key priority for the role is to assist Critical Care and Perioperative services to have systems processes and governance in place to ensure NSQHS accreditation readiness. The Safety and Quality Coordinator will also provide support to the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent in the leadership of nurses in the ward/unit/service.
Qualifications
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
Essential Requirements:
• Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
• Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
