Job Summary And Qualifications
The Certified Surgical Technologist – Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) - CVOR provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions, including saphenous vein harvesting, that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
You will provide expertise in all CVOR cases and demonstrate knowledge and application of Surgical First Assisting in the Perioperative setting
You will function as a surgical tech in CVOR cases when required.
You will demonstrate sound knowledge of surgical techniques, both routine and specialized, and performs in a professional manner.
You will demonstrate ability to use all equipment and supplies necessary for surgical procedures.
You will demonstrate self-direction above and beyond daily assignments and actively offers assistance to colleagues both within main OR’s, CVOR’s and other areas of surgical services.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate from high school or equivalent program
Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by an accredited agency. Certification as Surgical First Assistant through a nationally accredited certification agency. Current Certificate as a CSTFA.
Current experience in Surgery as a CST and experience in CVOR required
Current experience in an acute clinical care setting
