Job Summary:
As the Head of Finance & Accounts, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial and accounting functions within the organization. This includes financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, tax compliance, and risk management.
You will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, ensure the organization's financial operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial planning and analysis processes to support strategic decision-making. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyse financial data, and provide recommendations to senior management for improvement.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Provide timely and accurate financial information to management, stakeholders, and external auditors as required.
Budgeting: Lead the budgeting process, including the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Collaborate with department heads to ensure budgets are aligned with strategic goals, monitor budget performance, and take corrective actions as needed.
Cash Flow Management: Develop and implement cash flow management strategies to optimize cash flow, monitor cash flow projections, and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions. Implement cash management policies and procedures to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including income tax, GST, and other indirect taxes. Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and audits.
Banking: Close coordination with banks and other financial institutions. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks facing the organization. Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and interests. Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and best practices. Provide guidance to staff on financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Team Management: Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements: •
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI).
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, tax compliance, and risk management.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in financial management software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ethical conduct and high integrity in financial matters.
• Working experience in service industry is required.
