Chef Wanted – The Bootlegger Bar (Katoomba)
The Bootlegger Bar is looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. We’re a busy restaurant bar in Katoomba known for American low ‘n’ slow BBQ, steaks, share plates and pub favourites.
The role
This is a hands-on position covering service and prep, with responsibility for keeping standards high and the kitchen running smoothly. Duties include:
- Running a section during service (prep, cooking, plating)
- Food prep, portioning and stock rotation
- Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- Supporting the team with clear communication and a calm approach during busy periods
- Assisting with menu execution and specials (where appropriate)
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy venue
- Strong time management and consistency under pressure
- Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- Reliable, punctual and a team-first attitude
- Weekend availability (Fri/Sat are our busiest services)
Hours / employment type
We can offer:
- Set shifts per week (preferred)
- Casual / part-time / full-time options depending on experience and availability
