Job Description
Nikan Restaurant is currently looking for an experienced Chef with a strong background in Persian cuisine to join our kitchen team. As a recognised venue within the Ryde community in Sydney, the restaurant is committed to preserving the authenticity of traditional Iranian dishes while operating in a professional and fast-paced environment.
Duties Include:
Cooking a variety of Persian meals including:
Grilled meats and kebabs using traditional methods
Slow-cooked stews and sauces
Rice preparation techniques including tahdig
Managing kitchen operations during service
Ensuring food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef in a similar role
Demonstrated experience in Persian cuisine
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen
Strong organisational and teamwork skills
Understanding of food safety standards
