Additionally, we offer intensive "boot camp" programs designed to give participants a comprehensive, professional culinary experience. Role Description
This is a part time (18-20 hr/wk) OR full-time (30+hr/wk), on-site role for a Chef Instructor based in Chicago, IL. The Chef Instructor will be responsible for teaching a wide variety of cooking techniques and recipes in both demonstration and hands-on classes. Duties include preparing and presenting recipes, guiding students through cooking processes, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and creating an engaging and educational experience for participants. The role also includes participation in serving wine in classes, private events, corporate team-building sessions, and assisting with retail sales as needed.
Qualifications
-Comprehensive culinary skills, including proficiency in cooking techniques, recipe execution, and culinary presentation
-Effective teaching skills, with the ability to communicate concepts clearly in both classroom and hands-on instructional settings
-Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and event preparation
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse groups of participants
-Experience in event hosting, private parties, or corporate team-building is a plus
-Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
-Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience preferred
-Starting wage is $24-$26/hr based on experience. There is room for growth into management positions as well.
