Bankstown Hospital
You will be leading a specialized unit with high standards of practice. This role has a very high component of Cardiac Technology teaching/supervising, and will be suitable for experienced cardiac technologists/sonographers with >5 years' experience (in hospital setting preferably). You will be managing staff that work across multiple Cardiac Physiology and Technology areas in a busy and dynamic environment, servicing patients with complex cardiac pathology.
The Chief Cardiac Technologist provides leadership of all aspects of the non-invasive cardiac diagnostics department and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit and the development of operational protocols in addition to performing cardiac ultrasounds and other regular duties of a cardiac technologist to a high standard.

Responsibilities:
Providing leadership and direction to the team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
Developing and implementing operational protocols and policies to improve patient care and service delivery
Performing cardiac ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures to a high standard
Mentoring and supporting cardiac sonographers to enhance their skills and knowledge
Managing workload to ensure efficient use of resources
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care to patients

Requirements:
Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent
ASAR Accredited Cardiac Sonographer
Extensive recent practical experience
Ability to develop, implement, and assess protocols and procedures pertaining to cardiac ultrasound
Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a personable and professional manner
Proven understanding and application of risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement in the workplace
Eligibility:
To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
