Job Description
Seeking a contract Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist (16-30 hrs/week, hybrid in Long Beach, CA) to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment for children and adolescents within a behavioral health program.
The role promotes a strengths-based approach, empowering families and supporting a community-focused philosophy, working independently with oversight from program leaders.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, diagnosing, prescribing medications, providing follow-up care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, families, and caregivers. The psychiatrist must adhere to agency policies, maintain clinical documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications include a valid California medical license, board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, DEA license, experience with diverse youth populations, and strong communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is desirable.
Compensation ranges from $210-$230/hour, with flexible scheduling. Preference given to candidates with DMH agency experience. This is a mission-driven organization committed to serving vulnerable children and families.
