About the Role:
Their growing Commercial Gates division is looking for an Installation & Civil Labour Technician to assist our Civil and Installations teams on projects in and around the Lower Mainland (Vancouver Area) of BC with opportunities for some out of town travel within BC as well. There are plenty of growth opportunities for the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Civil Foreman with site preparation, trenching, concrete mixing, basic formwork, concrete pouring, site cleanup.
Assist the Installation Foreman with installation of gates, including setting posts, assembling gates, wiring, and commissioning.
Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
Operate power tools, small machinery or equipment (training provided if necessary).
Saw-cut, install and seal loops as required
Ensure job site cleanliness and safety compliance.
Cleaning and maintaining sites to eliminate possible hazards and keep worksites clean and orderly
Loading and unloading building materials and equipment as needed
Attending and being an active participant in all mandatory safety meetings
Must Have:
Comfortable using basic hand, power and construction tools
Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various conditions
Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
Clean criminal record
Self-motivation with the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work both independently and in a team
Strong work ethic and reliability with an eagerness to learn
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
Nice To Have:
Previous labouring experience in construction, civil work, or fencing/gate installation
Welding and fabrication experience
Low voltage electrical, control and communication systems
Certification in any of the following: First Aid, Electrical Ticket, Forklift Operator License, Excavator Operator License
