Job Description

Introduction:
At Strata Community Insurance, we have decades of experience delivering insurance solutions to protect strata communities. As a privately owned business, we are a trusted leader in the strata insurance industry, known for reliable and expert service.

We believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered, and supported in their growth. Our team is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to helping you achieve your personal and professional aspirations.

We’re looking for a customer‑focused Claims Consultant with strong property claims experience to join our National Claims Assist team based in Sydney. You’ll play a key role in helping us deliver on our vision of being the most trusted insurance partner to the strata community.

About the role

As a Claims Consultant, you’ll provide an outstanding First Notification of Loss (FNOL) experience, support efficient claim allocation, and manage a defined portfolio of property claims from lodgement through to resolution. You’ll use sound judgment to make indemnity decisions within authority, coordinate suppliers, and ensure claims are finalised accurately and efficiently.

You’ll also contribute to the broader Claims Assist model, supporting national workflows, assisting with Wilbur enquiries, and enhancing the customer experience across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional FNOL service and support efficient claims allocation with internal teams.
Manage a small portfolio of select property claims end‑to‑end, including liability and indemnity decisions within delegated authority.
Coordinate and manage suppliers and repairers, ensuring claims progress smoothly and accurately.
Monitor claims inboxes, handle urgent matters, escalate complaints appropriately, and provide administrative and Wilbur‑related support.
Identify opportunities to improve claims processes, service delivery, and customer experience across the Claims Assist model.
Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, financial services legislation, and the General Insurance Code of Practice.

About you

Proven experience in insurance, with property claims experience essential.
Confident managing a small portfolio of claims from lodgement to closure.
Excellent communication and a professional phone manner, with a strong customer‑first mindset.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
Able to make sound decisions within authority and work collaboratively across teams.
You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
